Being precisely 3 weeks from my wedding I’m afraid that my presence here in the blogging community will have to be put on hold for the next month. Life has been nothing short of crazy since 2008 started, but I’m loving every second of it! I adore my new job. In fact, tomorrow is the opening reception of the staff/faculty art show. I think it’s amazing that they have something like that for the employees. I’m so excited to see what everyone else has submitted.
I’ve entered this into the show. It took me approximately 16 hours to complete. **ugh**

Perhaps the most exciting thing I’ve done in this wonderful month of January is learned to shoot a 22 pistol. Yay! Tom and I went to Mt. Pleasant for a wedding and the morning of, the groom had the urge to shoot a gun. (Red flag perhaps? I don’t know… seems like it to me.) Anyway, the morning rendered me with a new nickname - Annie Oakley. I guess I was pretty good. All I know is that it was fun and now I want one of my own.

Now I’m going to go back to eating Lindt truffles, watching Garden State and attempting to finish the never-ending peacock.
I’m finally getting around to putting up some pictures of little Christmas gifts I made this year. They’re small, not very complicated, but specifically made for each person in mind.
For my Aunt Laurie

For my grandma, Gammie

I think he’s a little weird looking, but my Gammie loved him and that’s all that matters.
This for my mom

Everytime she and I go shopping she has a chaotic mound of gift cards and coupons floating in her purse. We usually end up standing at the register for too long while she shuffles through the stack trying to find the appropriate coupon and gift card. With papers falling on the floor and a slight scene being made each time, I decided I needed to do something about this. I made her this gift card/coupon wallet. It’s working great for her and all of her junk fits in it perfectly. I included 2 pockets for the gift cards and 1 larger pocket for all the coupons.

Now that the holidays are over with I’m busy cleaning up all the messes I made from making those things up there. Eek.
Anyway, Happy Sunday!
I sit here, indulging in Bleep Blips and Project Runway while obsessing over my new obsession (redundantly stated, I know).
But, seriously. About 6 months ago I expressed my complete and utter interest in Lomography’s Fisheye Camera. I had forgotten totally about it until Tom surpirsed me with the yellow fisheye for Christmas. Little did he know what a craze it would initiate with me. Within 2 hours of opening my fisheye, we had ordered another Lomography camera… The Diana+ .

I had EAGERLY been awaiting her arrival since the second I laid eyes on her. I was anxious to experience the manual panoramic photos I could take with her, the dreamy pinhole exposures, the musky, highly-contrasted square prints… She arrived today. I tore the box opened, hastily read the manual and wilted in dispair when I realized she doesn’t take 35mm film like the others… no, she takes 120 film. Crap. Looks like I have to make a trip to Ritz tomorrow. In the meantime, I’ve finished a roll on the Fisheye and I still have my Oktomat to nurture. Yes, I actually got 3 Lomography cams in one week. Is this an unhealthy obsession? Not yet. Maybe someday. There’s about 20 other Lomography cams that I need before this craving will be satiated. Let me tell you about the Oktomat… he takes 8 consecutive pics with one snap of the shutter release. I hear him “click click click click click click click click”. The result is 8 small pics depicting movement in what would be a normal 4×6 photo.
I plan on using these 3 cameras to take the majority of my wedding pictures. You can’t get more unique than that!
Anyway, so I’m looking through the book that accompanied my Diana ((True Tales & Short Stories)) and what do I happen to stumble upon, but a picture of Andy Warhol taken with one of the original Dianas. I just can’t seem to get away from this guy! Oh, and today I began my first day on my new job **stress!!**, taking a tour through the school, we walked past the graphic design department and I see many many flyers for what else other than The Andy Warhol Museum. Come on now! Enough of all that. I’m going to have some hot chocolate
